One weight loss strategy that is all the rage now is are quick weight loss diets. What are these plans and what do they do for you? The theory is that certain foods ‘cleanse’ the organs and colon of certain ‘toxic’ chemicals and substances. You often hear that there is a ‘spackle’ of fecal matter clinging to the colon that harbors toxins.
If you have ever had a colonoscopy, you know that this is just not true. You get ‘cleaned out’ to undergo one of these procedures, and no doctor could do this test if there were pounds of ‘impacted’ matter in your colon. It’s a myth that this condition even exists – and doing this ‘detox’ can actually hurt your health. A detox diet plan is really not a shortcut for losing weight as some might suggest.
Truly, easy diets are hard to find, and they can be dangerous. You really don’t have ‘impacted’ matter in your colon – ask anyone who has had a colonoscopy. This is a myth that is what I call ‘sham science’. It sounds good and reasonable, but is just not true.
One of the better methods to lose weight, is to eat foods that don’t contribute to glycemic fluctuations, eat smaller portions more often through your day. You’ll get the benefit of a more stable blood sugar, and you’ll see weight loss as a bonus benefit.
