Health benefits became costlier recently, which puts them beyond reach for many Americans. Of the more than 45 million north Americans who are uninsured, just about sixty percent are employed by smaller enterprises.

According to a survey commissioned by a major insurance company of 501 small-business owners many understand the role of a great benefits package in the hiring process.

Just about two-thirds of respondents reported that they’re worried about their company’s capability to supply a benefits package that will attract and retain staff.

Half of those surveyed concluded that they cannot attract and retain high quality employees without offering competitive health benefits. But small-business owners also recognized that providing benefits presented certain financial issues as well. The survey found: Almost half noted that increasing medical costs have negatively affected their workers’ salary.

Six in ten respondents agreed that it is very important to financially help staff with health challenges and medical emergencies.

Forty-two p.c of those surveyed concluded that yearly increases in health care benefits have made them decrease their offerings.

In feedback from home-based business owners, the company conducting the research also found that a lot of them assumed that coverage was offered solely to large firms. As a consequence, the insurer launched a new nationwide radio campaign concentrated on letting growing companies know that they may provide an affordable solution to augmenting employee benefit offerings.

Several insurance companies understand that small business operators wear many hats, including the responsibility of making quality insurance benefits available to their staff.

But, with increasing medical expenses, very many small business operators struggle to afford the expense of health insurance while maintaining and hiring a terrific workforce.

Small businesses are more affected by premium increases so it is critical that they are aware of the numerous medical plans on the market. Some organizations offer a wide variety of policies with no direct cost to employers because most of the policies are issued individually and paid for individually.
