Today, massage therapy is used in a variety of ways, including pain relief, increasing the health of patients with a variety of diseases, and increasing mental health. It has also been show to increase flexibility, lower blood pressure, and stimulate the immune system.

The relaxation of muscles reduces stress from everyday worries like financial issues and other daily stresses. Massage therapy has been proven to be one of the most effective methods for achieving stress relief. Research studies show massage therapy actually boosts the body’s immune system, which can become compromised from extended periods of stress.

When the body is massaged, blood pressure is lowered, respiration slows, heart rate is reduced and metabolism increases – all indications of a relaxed, healthier body. Massage therapy and bodywork are part of that healthy lifestyle, as a stress reliever, increase flexibility and pain relief.
