Some time ago, I was the working mom, with a great family, nice house, and a good job. I guess it has been a long time, 20 years in fact. Now I still have the same beautiful house, my husband has since passed, and my two kids are older and have moved away from the area.

I was a teacher for many years, changing the lives of kids every years in my classroom. Every week I run into a former student whether it’s at the grocery store or the restaurant.

My biggest hobby is gardening, and the joy of watching my plants grow. The best part about teaching was having the summers off to enjoy my hobby.

I don’t have a very big place, just enough for a few rows of herbs, vegetables, and some corn. Every morning, I slip on my Muck Boots Garden Shoes and head out to take inventory. There are not too many things that give me as much joy as seeing the progress of a growing plant. Naturally my kids are my biggest accomplishment in life, but this does come close.

My neighbor Tracy bought me these Muck Boot shoes that were specifically made for walking on top of fertilizer, trouncing through the mud, and staying put when walking on wet surfaces. They come in brown so you can’t even tell if they are dirty. It’s one for the ladies.
